"Avoid it. Poor support. Apathetic customer service. " - Luis Rodrigues [September 22, 2005] Product Rating: 2/5
Major problems: 1. It doesn't install on a small LAN without major hassles; we had to install patches to correct DLL registration errors, etc. not done properly by the installer.
2. Install on a client machine must be done from the Client PC with a network map - and the fax sotware won't work unless mapped to the same drive. Problem is that on subsequent reboots, the required DLL attempts to load before the network drives are mapped, leading of course, to numerous errors.
3. If you have laptops that need fax ability while disconnected from the network - you're out of luck. FaxNow doesn't support a "disconnected" approach (because of the required drive mapping).
4. Contacting technical support doesn't help: you get either a "it works for us" or a "we might get around to fixing it someday" attitude. Most apathetic, useless tech support we've received in a really long time.
All-in-all -- this is about as useless as it gets for a LAN environment. Might work fine for standalone usage (in which case it's greatly overpriced -- just use the stuff that comes with your modem or operating system.). For a LAN environment -- go look elsewhere. No way to set it up to fax from network

Three primary problems with this software:
1) It installs for a single user on the client machine. There is no way to have FAX available for mutltiple logon accounts on a particular machine.
2) It cannot be installed as a service, even on the server. Where ever you install the server software (the server software can be installed on a workstation but will be limited to 10 shared connections or 10 client fax machines), that computer must logon to a priviledged account to start the software. Until the server logs in, no one can fax anything.
3) Licensing is a pain too. If you buy a 5 license kit, then decide to upgrade to 10, you have to 'trade in' the five license kit for a 10. You cannot add licenses to get to 10.
